In February 1985 the French adult magazine LUI took advantage of Isabelle's new-found fame and published nude photos of her that had been taken the previous year in Cote d'Azur. Posing nude was against the rules of the pageant and the incident caused a scandal. Isabelle was immediately stripped of her Miss France title.

With Isabelle disqualified, Carole, as runner-up, was then crowned Miss France. She went on to become a successful mainstream model. Things changed in 1991 when Carole shocked France by deciding to become a porn actress.
